Description: This laboratory course offers students a view of the fashion and apparel industry. A sewing laboratory experience will be used to teach students the basic construction skills needed in the apparel industry. Students will study the latest fashion trends, fabric characteristics, and color analysis.  The concept of consumer buying trends and how it has affected the fashion industry is discussed.  Career opportunities such as retail sales, marketing, fashion merchandising, fashion design, and buying are investigated.
