Description:  In English I:  For English Language Learners, students increase and refine communication skills while focusing on their objectives identified in the TEKS.They concentrate on six traits (ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions) to practice all types of writing, and read extensively in multiple genres in world literature. Within this course, students also learn about various literary forms and terms, build their vocabulary, participate in research activities, and refine their grammar skills. This course is designed specifically for speakers of other languages and will be taught with English as a Second Language methodology.
