Description: The Advanced Placement Two-Dimensional Design Portfolio course enables high motivated students to do college-level work in studio art while still in high school. The course involves significantly more time and commitment than most high school courses and is intended for students seriously committed to studying art. The evaluation for college credit of students enrolled in the AP course is not based on a written examination.
Two-Dimensional Design Portfolio: This portfolio is intended to address a very broad interpretation of two-dimensional design issues. This type of design involves purposeful decision-making about how to use the elements and principles of art in an integrative way. For this portfolio, students are asked to demonstrate proficiency in two-dimensional design using a variety of art forms. These could include, but are not limited to, graphic design, digital imaging, photography, collage, fabric design, illustration, painting, and print making.
