To All
Prospective Clear Creak High School
Freshmen: 2005 - 2006
Note: Beginning with the class of 2006 and thereafter, all students must complete all required coursework and pass all sections of the TASK Exit Level exams to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony and receive a diploma.
You are receiving an Educational Planning Guide, course selection sheet, instructions, and a course selection card. Please keep in mind your graduation requirements as you make your selections. You are making a commitment to your course selections for the entire year.
Your careful attention to Course Selection is the first major step in your high school career. It is extremely important that you follow all of the directions exactly. After you have made your selections, your courses will be entered in the computer, and a schedule will be made for you. Therefore, it is very important that you give careful consideration to the courses you selected.
Check the graduation requirements in the Educational Planning Guide for the graduation plan you have selected. Students entering Grade 9 in school year 2005-2006, and thereafter, who wish to graduate on the Minimum High School Plan must complete a waiver form at their high school no earlier than their 10th grade year.
Important points to note in completing the course selection card:

Be sure to list AT LEAST four alternate courses. Many times, courses are "killed" after course selection. This means that for some reason we will not offer the course. You may also have conflicts with some of your selections that are only offered one or two times throughout the day. So, we need to know what course(s) you would like to substitute should this happen to you. These classes are very important because they are the ONLY classes we can substitute on your schedule. Give this option careful consideration.
Students enrolling in PreAP or AP courses will NOT be allowed to change levels until the end of the first six weeks and only if the grade is less than 75. The next chance to change levels would be at semester. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Many courses require auditions or tryouts (sports, band, orchestra, choir, cheerleading, etc.) The teachers of the course hold their auditions and then notify the counselors what class students are to be placed in. You may sign up for these courses, but, if after auditions, you do not get selected for the class, we will place you in one of the alternate classes you have listed on your course selection card.

Change for 05-06. Communication Applications (speech) is only open to juniors and seniors. NO EXCEPTIONS.
