Description: This one semester elective will give students information on their rights and responsibilities under federal, state, and local laws that most affect them. This will include state and local family and juvenile laws. Victim's rights versus criminal's rights will be discussed. An attempt will be made to have a field trip to one of the court systems. Students will participate in classroom activities including mock trials. This course is suggested as a prerequisite for anyone interested in participating in the Teen Court program.
