Description: This is a one-year world history course for students who would like to prepare for college level work. In addition to covering the major aspects of world history, the course extends the study in a number of ways: inclusion of more detail, emphasis upon archeological concerns and methods, use of primary materials and documents, comparative study of the great religions, and interdisciplinary focus emphasizing art and architecture, study of the background for the development of U.S. government and economics, and application of historical concepts to current events. The emphasis is upon critical thinking, independent study, and research.
