Description: This one year course is a study of the impact of the World Wide Web on society, elements of web design, and web site management. Students will develop web content pages and sites primarily in HTML and become familiar with professional level web authoring software. The students will explore graphics creation, animation layout design, organization and site management, and publishing issues, The World Wide Web (WWW) is the fastest growing part of the Internet. The popularity of the WWW is due largely to the ease with which users can not only access and navigate the web, but also creative pages of information to share with others. This course focuses on the ability to write code and to learn publishing skills by serving information on a web server. Ultimately, students, within an ethical framework, will gain the tools to become webmasters for the class, school, district or beyond and thus participate in a global community of learners and callaborators.
